So I'm watching this show on Discovery Health called Truth Be Told, right? And this show is a look inside the lives of families with special needs children and I'm in horror. Programs like these put infinite abhorrence in ideas like being a mom. I mean, it's one thing (one really HUGE thing) to be a mom, yes? You are responsible for the life of another being. There's this quote, "Making the decision to have a child is momentous. It is to decide forever to have your heart go walking around outside your body." Got that? But imagine producing another person who you KNOW will never be up to par. Life is hard enough for any normal kid, but when you're so blatantly different it's impossible. It's impossible for the parents, the MOM, it's impossible for the kiddos. This kind of thing isn't even a choice! No one expects to have a defect CHILD. I don't think I could ever handle that. Ugh. Babies.
